Applications of monel alloys

Image
Monel is a very corrosion-resistant alloy; therefore, it is used for the manufacture of parts operating in aggressive environments. It also has a ductility and high tensile strength. In particular, the low corrosion rate in marine and fresh water has determined hastelloy c276 round bar  use in shipbuilding. In addition, this unique alloy has also found application in the oil, chemical, textile, medical industries. In these industries, monel metal is used for the manufacture of pickling tanks and vessels, small fittings for steam boilers, small stamped products, for musical instruments, electrical equipment, spectacle frames and so on. Monel metal is an alloy that contains up to sixty-seven percent of nickel and up to thirty-eight percent of copper. The name "Monel" is a trademark owned by Special Metals Corporation. The alloy was created by David Brown, the chief metallurgist of International Nickel Co. and named after the president of the company Ambr...

Know All About Inconel Alloys

Image
INCONEL is a registered trademark of Special Metals Corporation covering nickel-chromium based alloys, covering a wide spectrum of compositions and properties. The combination of nickel and chromium in these alloys provides resistance to corrosive, reducing and oxidizing solutions. Nickel and chromium also work together to resist oxidation, carburization and other forms of deterioration at high temperatures. These alloys do not become brittle at cryogenic temperatures. They possess good tensile and fatigue strength at moderate temperatures, and have excellent flow and rupture properties at high temperatures. The technical level necessary to work the nickel 201 round bar is not within the reach of minor or low professional level manufacturers. The applications of these alloys are very wide: containers for heat treatment, turbines, Hi-te docks, aviation, nuclear power plants, etc. Composition Different alloys of Inconel have different compositions. Nickel makes up the majority,...
